A to Z Building Blocks is locally owned by Jody and Brian Zabriskie. It was established in 2005. Jody and Brian met in high school and dated for five years before they married. They both grew up in Utah.
Jody has been taking care of children since she was ten years old and has been dreaming of owning her own childcare center since she was thirteen years old. She was a nanny for three years before getting married and starting her own family.
Jody and Brian have four children and love being parents. While their children were young, Jody started teaching preschool in their home in 2001 and taught for four years before they established A to Z Building Blocks and opened a facility for preschool children. They opened another facility in 2006 for infants and toddlers. In 2010, they expanded into a larger facility to accommodate children of all ages.
In 2015, they were given the opportunity to expand once more to serve more families in Orem, Utah. In 2018, they continue their growth by opening another facility in Eagle Mountain for all age groups, and just this year they have opened a brand new location in Draper, Ut.
Jody has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has served on numerous committees to help maintain and provide quality care and experiences for children. She currently serves as Chair for the Utah Childcare Center Licensing Committee. She is on the board for the Utah Private Child Care Association (UPPCA) and never hesitates to offer her talent and to teach courses for the members. She works closely with and teaches and educates the child care industry. She loves teaching children and adults alike. She is not only dedicated to providing quality care to the the children, but the families and team that she serves. She has built some amazing relationships with families and watched children grow from infancy to Junior High. You will also find her helping young adults apply for college and scholarships as she truly values the importance of education. She strives to know each family and those values are reflected in each of her facilities. She goes above and beyond to make sure the safety and education of the children come first by providing her team with the education and training needed to make the classroom a success. She grew from two employees to well over 65 employees between her facilities. Jody is very hands-on in each of her facilities and loves what she does.
Brian Zabriskie is the Executive Director for UPCCA and has been involved in child care for over 14 years. Brian loves to be a part of something bigger than himself, and has partnered with his talented wife to grow a child care business to serve over 400 children. He has worked in various accounting, financial and management roles for the past 24 years and is excited to serve on the UPCCA board.
