Two and Three year old’s are sponges. They soak in the environment around them. They need more than a daycare setting. They need to be learning through doing hands on experiences.
Our classrooms are set up to provide a learning enrich environment through hands on play. There are different centers set up in our classrooms- dramatic play, blocks, active play, quiet corner, and sensory play. We also give them experience with music, art, and interactive literature.
Two’s and Three’s are encouraged to learn through their natural play so we provide preschool experiences throughout the day to allow them to do this.
Creative art is based on what the child wants not what the teacher wants to art to look like. Children are given materials to create art such as paints, glue, collage items, scissors, etc. A to Z Building Blocks does not believe in giving a child a replica of what the teacher has created and having the child construct their masterpiece to look like the teachers work.
Music time is a way to let children gain a love for music through hands on music experiences. Children are encouraged to use musical instruments, ribbons, scarves, and their bodies to enjoy music. We have many songs that we freely dance and sing to as well as songs that we sit down and do hand motions to.
Children at this age are learning to socialize with their peers. We feel that it is important for caregivers to spend as much time down on the ground with the children playing and modeling for them so that they can learn to use their words to socialize with their peers.
